Types of Internships Available

Our internships follow the academic calendar and have fall, spring and summer start dates. The fall term is generally September to mid-December, the spring term is from mid-January to early May and the summer term is June to mid-August. Full-time and part-time internships are available. Interns are offered a monthly stipend and transportation.

Gain first-hand experience in drug and alcohol rehabilitation within a rural setting by assisting in the support of participants in our Transition Phase and in the management of our After-care Program. This role will meet with graduates, run groups, and teach vital life skill refresher courses to those men in the final portion of their program, helping to prepare them for graduation and their new life.

Assist individuals struggling with substance use disorder, homelessness, poverty, or coming from jail re-entry from a Christ-centered perspective. You will participate in case management meetings, develop treatment plans, review case files, record case details, and help participants navigate all case management needs.

Assist in caring for men in the New Life Program at Harvest Farm. This role will incorporate experiences of Biblical teaching, pastoral care, relationship-building, and spiritual growth. Interns in this role should have a desire to grow their calling in ministry and gain first-hand experience in drug and alcohol rehabilitation in rural setting.

*Ideal applicants should be pursuing full-time ministry, chaplaincy, and or Clinical Pastoral Education.

Guide participants in the New Life Program at Harvest Farm to mental and emotional health in group and individual settings. Applicants should be Masters level students or post graduate school provisional candidates for Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Addiction Counseling, or another related field.

Work with Fort Collins Rescue Mission staff to provide support for shelter guests who utilize our services. This role provides high interaction with shelter guests and exposure to emergency services and will also work to provide appropriate referrals as needed and assist in building and maintaining strategic relationships within our community.

Conduct intake interviews with men wanting to join our New Life Program. Learn a little about their life story and then input information into internal and national databases. This will also include needs assessments, making referrals, and case management/care team meetings.

Assist in all aspects of a kitchen’s daily operations including meal planning and execution, managing inventory and assisting in the training of the kitchen crew. Interns will also work closely with the Kitchen Supervisor in learning how Work Therapy is integrated into drug and alcohol rehabilitation in a rural setting.

Assist with recruitment, screening, training, placement and appreciation of mentors at Harvest Farm. This role will interact with program participants by conducting interviews to hear their story. You will also implement and improve matching protocols and procedures to making meaningful, positive mentoring connections.

Work with Harvest Farm staff to provide support for participants during the day or in the evenings. This includes oversight of operations and interaction with guests with the goal of meeting immediate and long-term needs. This role provides high interaction with program participants and exposure to drug and alcohol rehabilitation in a rural setting.

Work with Fort Collins Rescue Mission staff to provide support for shelter guests who utilize our services. This includes oversight of operations and interaction with guests with the goal of meeting immediate and long-term needs. This role provides high interaction with shelter guests and exposure to emergency services, as well as exposure to non-profit operations and procedures.
